The only other discernible difference I've come across is the location of the recoil spring is in the stock for the M2 vs over the mag tube on the Affinity which makes them balance differently, and apparently is also a pain to get to on the M2.

Buy what you want. I would also say get the M-2. The others gave their honest opinion and so will I since you said you do not need 3.5" capability.
