The 795 is fairly easy to field strip and clean. There are also some very good stickies on the Marlin Semiauto forum on how to disassemble and tweak the trigger. The 64 requires removing the barrel (by removing a 7/16 hex-head bolt and clamp) to remove the bolt and clean it. This probably would affect scope zero.The 795 is a great vehicle for appleseed.
